Older dogs do not slip everywhere. They slip in the same few places: the turn out of the bedroom, the stretch of hallway to the water bowl, the spot by the back door. PawProof is a set of carpet tiles you lay along that route.
How it works

Each tile grips smooth floors on contact. No glue, no tape, nothing to nail down. Press one into place and it stays put under a push-off. Lift a corner when you want it back and the floor underneath is clean.

Spills land on one square instead of a whole rug, so you wash that square and press it back. Trim a tile with scissors for doorways and corners. Two sizes, 30 x 30 cm and 60 x 60 cm, in seven neutral colours. 30-day returns.

Lay on a clean, dry floor. If a tile loses grip after washing, rinse the backing with water and let it air-dry and the grip comes back. If a tile gets wet, lift it, dry the floor and the tile, then press it back down. On sealed hardwood, test one tile in a hidden spot for a few days before laying the whole path.
